Donating our duvets to Birmingham Dogs Home

November 18, 2014 News

Here at Ramada our aim is to make our guests as comfortable as possible and ensure they have a great nights’ sleep, and that’s why we have just invested in new cosy king sized duvets for all of 90 bedrooms.

Having replaced all of our double sized duvets, they were now surplus to requirements and we wanted to ensure we put them to good use.

With this in mind, and the weather turning cold, our thoughts turned to a charity close to our General Manager Mel Stanton’s heart – Birmingham Dogs Home, Coven Branch.  Mel fell in love with the place after they introduced her to her lovely Staffordshire Bull-Terrier, Junior, 3 years ago and so it was a natural choice for the duvet donation!

Mel has personally been raising money for the charity ever since becoming ‘mum’ to Junior, and recently took part in the Wolverhampton Half Marathon raising £502 for the Dog’s Home, and so was thrilled to be able to support them further with the duvets to help keep the dogs wrapped up this winter.  There are currently 50 dogs at the Dog’s Home to be looked after and re-home, but they are expecting this to more than double over the Christmas period and so were very grateful to receive our donation.

We would like to say keep up the hard work, and we’re amazed how Mel managed to return home without another four legged friend!
